Double glazing near you

Double glazing uses two panes of glass with a sealed, insulating gap between them, cutting heat loss, draughts and condensation compared with single glazing. We fit it in new windows and doors or as replacement sealed units, suiting almost every home, from older properties still single glazed to houses with failed units.

FAQs

Double glazing: your questions

Why is there condensation between my double glazed panes?

Condensation inside the unit means the seal has failed and moist air has got into the gap, so the unit has lost much of its insulating value. The frame itself is often fine, in which case we can measure and replace just the sealed unit rather than the whole window.

Can you replace just the glass rather than the whole window?

Yes, if the frames are in good condition. We measure the existing units, make replacements to size and fit them into your current frames. If the frames are warped, damaged or the hardware is failing, we'll explain whether a full window replacement would be better value in the long term.

Is double glazing still worth it compared with triple glazing?

For most homes in London, modern double glazing, typically with low-emissivity coated glass, performs very well. Triple glazing improves insulation further but adds weight and cost. The right choice depends on your property, frames and priorities, which we can talk through when we survey.
