Tilt & turn windows in South Woodford

Homes in South Woodford are mostly Edwardian terraces, 1930s semis, detached homes and newer flats. On Victorian terraces, tilt and turn windows are best kept to rear extensions or loft rooms, where their modern look matters less and inward opening helps cleaning.

In 1930s loft conversions and rear bedrooms, a tilt and turn window can provide a generous escape opening while still allowing secure night-time ventilation. Allow for the inward swing when planning rooms in a detached home, keeping furniture, blinds and deep window sills clear of the sash's opening arc.

Noise is the thing most people mention: the North Circular, Charlie Brown's Roundabout and the start of the M11 are all close. Thicker laminated acoustic units cut that hum noticeably. At roughly 3.1 miles, a quick run along the A406 from our factory, we are easy to reach for aftercare.

Tilt and turn windows open inwards in two ways: tilted at the top for secure ventilation, or turned fully like a door for cleaning and escape. They suit flats, high-rise homes, modern builds and any room where outward-opening windows are impractical or cleaning from outside is difficult.

• Tilt position for secure ventilation
• Large clear opening for emergency escape
• Locking points all around the sash
