Tilt & turn windows in Hackney Wick

Around Hackney Wick you will mostly find converted warehouses, canalside apartments and new-build flats. On contemporary homes and new builds, slim tilt and turn frames suit large single panes and pair well with minimal interiors and Juliet balconies.

Tilt and turn windows are ideal for upper-floor flats because both sides of the glass can be cleaned from inside, avoiding the need for external access. On Victorian terraces, tilt and turn windows are best kept to rear extensions or loft rooms, where their modern look matters less and inward opening helps cleaning.

Nearly every home here is a flat, so the first step is approval from the freeholder or managing agent, and we prepare the technical details they ask for. Tight canalside access is planned at the survey. The Wick is about 4.6 miles from our Edmonton factory.

Tilt and turn windows open inwards in two ways: tilted at the top for secure ventilation, or turned fully like a door for cleaning and escape. They suit flats, high-rise homes, modern builds and any room where outward-opening windows are impractical or cleaning from outside is difficult.

• Tilt position for secure ventilation
• Turns fully inward for safe cleaning
• Large clear opening for emergency escape
