Repairs & servicing in Woodford

Homes in Woodford are mostly Victorian and Edwardian villas, roomy 1930s semis and some mansion flats. On Victorian homes with older uPVC sashes or casements, replacing worn hinges and seals can often cure draughts without disturbing the frames or decoration.

In flats, check whether windows and doors are your responsibility or the freeholder's under the lease before booking repairs, especially for communal entrances. Bay windows on 1930s houses often suffer from misted units and dropped sashes, which can usually be fixed with replacement glass and hinge adjustment.

For the older villas we can make sash windows or flush casements with period-style bars, and composite doors with decorative glass. Parts of Woodford are covered by conservation area controls, so we talk to Redbridge Council before quoting where needed. Our factory is about 3 miles away, which makes it easy to bring samples to your home.

We repair windows and doors of most types, including replacing misted glass units, faulty locks, handles, hinges and worn seals. Repairs suit homeowners, landlords and businesses whose frames are basically sound but not working properly, and can be a sensible alternative to full replacement.

• Fixes sticking, dropped or draughty doors
