Local advice

Glass & mirror designs for Woodford homes

Around Woodford you will mostly find Victorian and Edwardian villas, roomy 1930s semis and some mansion flats. Narrow Victorian hallways and small bathrooms benefit from large made-to-measure mirrors, which reflect light and make tight spaces feel noticeably wider.

In flats, measure stairs, corridors and lifts before ordering large mirrors or glass panels, as oversized pieces may need to be made in sections. In 1930s homes, Art Deco shaped or bevelled mirrors can suit the era, and replacing dated tiles with a glass splashback is a quick kitchen refresh.

For the older villas we can make sash windows or flush casements with period-style bars, and composite doors with decorative glass. Parts of Woodford are covered by conservation area controls, so we talk to Redbridge Council before quoting where needed. Our factory is about 3 miles away, which makes it easy to bring samples to your home.

We make and fit bespoke glass and mirror designs, from bathroom mirrors and splashbacks to glass panels and feature glass for homes and businesses. Cut to measure, they suit renovations, kitchens, bathrooms, restaurants and retail spaces where precise sizing, safety glass and a clean finish matter.

Questions from Woodford

Do I need planning permission for glass & mirror designs in Woodford?

Parts of Woodford, particularly around Woodford Green, fall within conservation areas, so we check with Redbridge Council before quoting. Outside those areas, like-for-like replacements are normally permitted development. Internal glass and mirrors do not usually need planning permission or Building Regulations approval, though glass in critical locations, such as low-level panels or areas near doors, must be safety glass.

How soon can you fit glass & mirror designs in Woodford?

Lead times vary by product and workload — confirmed with your quote. Being about 3.2 miles from our factory makes surveys, fitting days and aftercare visits easy to arrange.

Is a glass splashback practical in a kitchen?

Yes. Toughened glass splashbacks wipe clean easily, have no grout lines to trap dirt and suit most kitchen layouts. Check your hob manufacturer's guidance on clearance distances, particularly for gas hobs, before finalising the design for your Woodford kitchen.

Can I see samples before I decide?

Yes. Our showroom is at Unit G, 1 Anthony Way, London N18 3QT (Mon–Fri 8am–5pm), about 3.2 miles from Woodford. We can also bring samples to your home in Woodford at the free survey.
