Aluminium sliding doors in Woodford Bridge

Homes in Woodford Bridge are mostly Victorian cottages, 1930s semis, detached houses and converted hospital apartments. In Victorian side-return extensions, a two or three-panel sliding door gives wide views while staying practical in narrow gardens where swinging doors would get in the way.

For 1930s semis with rear extensions, sliding doors keep sightlines clean across the garden and avoid bifold panel stacks taking up patio space. Larger detached homes can use multi-panel sliding doors across wide rear openings, but structural steelwork and drainage need careful planning before installation.

Some streets around the green are under conservation controls, and we check with Redbridge Council before quoting. Homes close to the M11 and the North Circular can get traffic noise, which acoustic glazing helps with. We are about 4 miles from Woodford Bridge.

Sliding patio doors use large glass panels that glide along a track, opening up a rear wall without taking any space inside or out. Made with slim aluminium frames, they suit kitchen extensions, living rooms and modern homes where owners want maximum glass, views and daylight.

• Large panes with slim aluminium frames
