Flush windows in Tufnell Park

Homes in Tufnell Park are mostly Victorian villas, terraces and converted flats. Flush windows suit Victorian rear elevations and back additions, giving a cleaner joinery look than storm casements while sash windows stay on the front.

In conservation areas, a flush window in a woodgrain finish can come closer to original joinery than standard uPVC, although council approval may still be needed. Before choosing flush windows in a flat, confirm the freeholder accepts the colour and profile, since mixed styles across a block can breach lease terms.

For most houses we suggest sash windows built to match the originals, or secondary glazing where the old frames are worth keeping. Flat owners usually need the freeholder's agreement, and we provide the details they ask for. Parking is controlled on most streets, so we arrange permits ahead of time. Our factory is about 5.5 miles away.

Flush windows have opening sashes that sit level with the outer frame, recreating the look of traditional timber casements. Made in our own factory, they suit homeowners who want a heritage or contemporary appearance with the low maintenance of a modern frame, especially on period homes and stylish renovations.

• Sashes close flush like traditional joinery
• Available in woodgrain and colour finishes
