Flush windows in Hampstead

Around Hampstead you will mostly find Georgian and Victorian houses, mansion blocks and converted flats. In conservation areas, a flush window in a woodgrain finish can come closer to original joinery than standard uPVC, although council approval may still be needed.

Flush windows suit Victorian rear elevations and back additions, giving a cleaner joinery look than storm casements while sash windows stay on the front. Before choosing flush windows in a flat, confirm the freeholder accepts the colour and profile, since mixed styles across a block can breach lease terms.

Where Camden Council approval is likely to be needed, we tell you at the survey stage and supply the drawings and specifications for your application.

Flush windows have opening sashes that sit level with the outer frame, recreating the look of traditional timber casements. Made in our own factory, they suit homeowners who want a heritage or contemporary appearance with the low maintenance of a modern frame, especially on period homes and stylish renovations.

• Sashes close flush like traditional joinery
