Acoustic glazing in Chigwell

Around Chigwell you will mostly find large detached houses, executive homes and 1930s semis. On detached homes, target the elevations facing the noise source, such as a road or railway, rather than paying for acoustic glass in every window.

1930s homes on main arterial roads benefit most from acoustic units in the front bays, along with good seals, because gaps let sound in as easily as thin glass. Where original windows must stay in conservation areas or listed buildings, acoustic laminated secondary glazing with a wide air gap can be very effective.

Big glass panels are heavy, and long drives or side access can be awkward, so delivery and lifting are planned properly at the survey rather than on the day. Many owners also prefer one company for windows, doors and the roof together, which is how we work: the same team surveys, makes and fits. Chigwell is about 5 miles from Edmonton.

Acoustic glazing uses laminated glass with a sound-damping interlayer, often combined with panes of different thicknesses, to reduce noise coming through your windows. It suits homes and businesses near busy roads, railways, flight paths, schools and nightlife, where outside noise affects sleep, work or everyday comfort.

• Noticeably quieter rooms near busy roads
• Laminated glass adds safety and security
• Works alongside double or secondary glazing
