Aluminium sliding doors in Kilburn

Around Kilburn you will mostly find Victorian terraces, converted flats, council estates and newer apartment blocks. In Victorian side-return extensions, a two or three-panel sliding door gives wide views while staying practical in narrow gardens where swinging doors would get in the way.

Sliding doors suit flats opening onto balconies or terraces because they do not swing, but check freeholder consent and drainage at the threshold first. On period homes in conservation areas, rear sliding doors are often acceptable where hidden from the street, but confirm with the council before ordering.

For those homes we suggest acoustic double glazing or secondary glazing behind existing windows. Because Kilburn straddles two boroughs, the council you deal with depends on which side of the high road you live; we check the right one for conservation rules. In converted flats we also confirm freeholder consent and plan parking, since loading on side streets can be tight. Our factory is about 7.8 miles away.

Sliding patio doors use large glass panels that glide along a track, opening up a rear wall without taking any space inside or out. Made with slim aluminium frames, they suit kitchen extensions, living rooms and modern homes where owners want maximum glass, views and daylight.

• Slides open without swinging into rooms
• Maximises views and natural light
• Low threshold options for easier access
