Tilt & turn windows in Holloway

Homes in Holloway are mostly Victorian terraces, converted flats and council estates. On Victorian terraces, tilt and turn windows are best kept to rear extensions or loft rooms, where their modern look matters less and inward opening helps cleaning.

Tilt and turn windows are ideal for upper-floor flats because both sides of the glass can be cleaned from inside, avoiding the need for external access. For offices and tenanted blocks, tilt and turn windows let occupants ventilate safely in the tilt position, while cleaning can be done from inside on upper floors.

Noise is often the first thing people mention. Bedrooms facing the A1, Camden Road or Seven Sisters Road can be transformed with acoustic double glazing, or with secondary glazing behind the existing sashes. Parking is tight on most streets, so we sort out bay suspensions or permits before fitting day. The drive from our factory is about 4.9 miles.

Tilt and turn windows open inwards in two ways: tilted at the top for secure ventilation, or turned fully like a door for cleaning and escape. They suit flats, high-rise homes, modern builds and any room where outward-opening windows are impractical or cleaning from outside is difficult.

• Turns fully inward for safe cleaning
• Large clear opening for emergency escape
• Locking points all around the sash
