Sash windows in N11

Victorian and Edwardian terraces often have two-over-two or one-over-one sashes with horns, and matching that pattern exactly keeps the front elevation consistent with neighbouring houses.

Some 1920s houses have sash windows alongside bays, so note whether the bay sashes slide or are fixed before deciding how closely to match the original arrangement.

The East Coast Main Line also passes through the district. For many N11 homes, acoustic glazing on the road-facing side is the priority, with standard energy-efficient units elsewhere. We are about four miles from N11.

Sliding sash windows open vertically and give period homes their familiar look, with balanced sashes, horns and glazing bars. We make replacement sash windows to match original proportions, suiting owners of Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian properties who want better insulation and security without losing traditional character.

• Traditional look with modern weather sealing
• Matched to original proportions and glazing bars
• Fewer draughts and rattles than worn originals
