Sash windows in Ponders End

Around Ponders End you will mostly find Victorian and Edwardian worker terraces, interwar houses and post-war estates. Victorian and Edwardian terraces often have two-over-two or one-over-one sashes with horns, and matching that pattern exactly keeps the front elevation consistent with neighbouring houses.

Some 1920s houses have sash windows alongside bays, so note whether the bay sashes slide or are fixed before deciding how closely to match the original arrangement. Newer homes built in a traditional style sometimes have mock sashes, and genuine sliding sashes can replace them where you want a more authentic opening action.

Homes near the A110, Hertford Road or the West Anglia railway line can be noisy, and acoustic glazing helps. Our factory is just about 2.4 miles down the road in Edmonton, so we can fit around your schedule and come back quickly if anything needs adjusting.

Sliding sash windows open vertically and give period homes their familiar look, with balanced sashes, horns and glazing bars. We make replacement sash windows to match original proportions, suiting owners of Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian properties who want better insulation and security without losing traditional character.

• Traditional look with modern weather sealing
• Smooth vertical sliding operation
• Fewer draughts and rattles than worn originals
