Aluminium sliding doors in Parsons Green

Homes in Parsons Green are mostly late-Victorian terraced houses and some purpose-built mansion flats. In Victorian side-return extensions, a two or three-panel sliding door gives wide views while staying practical in narrow gardens where swinging doors would get in the way.

Sliding doors suit flats opening onto balconies or terraces because they do not swing, but check freeholder consent and drainage at the threshold first. For 1930s semis with rear extensions, sliding doors keep sightlines clean across the garden and avoid bifold panel stacks taking up patio space.

The green and the streets around it form a conservation area, and Hammersmith & Fulham expects front windows to stay in keeping, so sash-style replacements are the usual choice. The District line runs above ground through the area and New King's Road is busy, which makes acoustic glazing worth considering. Residents' parking is tight, so we arrange permits before fitting.

Sliding patio doors use large glass panels that glide along a track, opening up a rear wall without taking any space inside or out. Made with slim aluminium frames, they suit kitchen extensions, living rooms and modern homes where owners want maximum glass, views and daylight.
