Sash windows in Hainault

Homes in Hainault are mostly post-war ex-council terraces, semis and low-rise maisonettes. Newer homes built in a traditional style sometimes have mock sashes, and genuine sliding sashes can replace them where you want a more authentic opening action.

Victorian and Edwardian terraces often have two-over-two or one-over-one sashes with horns, and matching that pattern exactly keeps the front elevation consistent with neighbouring houses. Some 1920s houses have sash windows alongside bays, so note whether the bay sashes slide or are fixed before deciding how closely to match the original arrangement.

Homes here often have front gardens and parking nearby, which makes fitting day easier. If you are a leaseholder in a maisonette or block, check your lease, as the freeholder or Redbridge Council may need to approve new windows first.

Sliding sash windows open vertically and give period homes their familiar look, with balanced sashes, horns and glazing bars. We make replacement sash windows to match original proportions, suiting owners of Victorian, Edwardian and Georgian properties who want better insulation and security without losing traditional character.

• Matched to original proportions and glazing bars
• Smooth vertical sliding operation
• Fewer draughts and rattles than worn originals
