Flush windows in Forest Gate

The housing in Forest Gate is largely Victorian and Edwardian terraces, villas and converted flats. Flush windows suit Victorian rear elevations and back additions, giving a cleaner joinery look than storm casements while sash windows stay on the front.

Before choosing flush windows in a flat, confirm the freeholder accepts the colour and profile, since mixed styles across a block can breach lease terms. On 1930s bays, flush casements with slim mullions can reflect the original metal or timber windows more closely than chunky storm-style frames.

On period terraces we tend to recommend sash-style windows or flush casements that keep the original lines, alongside a composite front door in a traditional style. If you live close to Romford Road or the Elizabeth line, acoustic glazing to the front bedrooms is worth a look. The journey from Edmonton is about 4.9 miles, so a survey is easy to book.

Flush windows have opening sashes that sit level with the outer frame, recreating the look of traditional timber casements. Made in our own factory, they suit homeowners who want a heritage or contemporary appearance with the low maintenance of a modern frame, especially on period homes and stylish renovations.
