Aluminium bifold doors in Clapton

Homes in Clapton are mostly Georgian squares, Victorian villas and terraces, council estates and converted flats. In conservation areas, bifolds are usually limited to rear elevations, and slim frames in muted colours help them sit comfortably with older brickwork.

On Victorian side-return extensions, a three-panel bifold with a traffic door works well, giving everyday access without folding back the whole set. Bifolds suit ground-floor flats and maisonettes with gardens, but check the lease and get freeholder approval, as alterations to external walls are often restricted.

Clapton Square and the streets around it are a conservation area, and Hackney Council expects windows there to respect the original design. We check before quoting. Lea Bridge Road and Lower Clapton Road both carry heavy traffic, so acoustic glazing helps on the front of the house. Our factory is about 3.5 miles north, along the Lea Valley.

Bifold doors are made of several panels that fold and stack neatly to one side, opening almost the full width of a wall to the garden. With slim aluminium frames, they suit kitchen extensions, garden rooms and homes where owners want a seamless link between indoor and outdoor living.
