Flush windows in White City

The housing in White City is largely 1930s council-built blocks, modern apartments and Edwardian terraces. On 1930s bays, flush casements with slim mullions can reflect the original metal or timber windows more closely than chunky storm-style frames.

On modern homes, flush windows in anthracite grey or black give a sleek, architectural look that pairs well with aluminium doors and rendered walls. Flush windows suit Victorian rear elevations and back additions, giving a cleaner joinery look than storm casements while sash windows stay on the front.

Flats here usually mean working with a landlord, housing association or managing agent, so we confirm consent and access before fitting. The A40 Westway and the Central line run right through the area, and for rooms facing them we recommend acoustic double glazing to keep things quieter.

Flush windows have opening sashes that sit level with the outer frame, recreating the look of traditional timber casements. Made in our own factory, they suit homeowners who want a heritage or contemporary appearance with the low maintenance of a modern frame, especially on period homes and stylish renovations.

• Sashes close flush like traditional joinery
