Composite doors in Swiss Cottage

The housing in Swiss Cottage is largely mansion blocks, Victorian houses converted to flats and post-war estates. Victorian and Edwardian front doors often had four panels and a glazed top section, and composite designs can recreate that with matching letterplates and knockers.

Composite doors are a popular choice for maisonettes with their own street entrance, but doors onto communal corridors must meet the building's fire door requirements. Contemporary homes suit flat-faced composite doors in anthracite or black, often with long bar handles and slim vertical glass panels.

The Finchley Road (A41) is one of the busiest roads in North London, so acoustic glazing is often the first thing people ask about. We help agree designs with managing agents or freeholders and plan access and parking in advance, as shared buildings and controlled parking zones make careful planning essential.

Composite doors combine a solid insulated core with a tough, weather-resistant outer skin, giving the look of a painted timber door with very little upkeep. They suit homeowners wanting a strong, attractive front door, with a choice of styles, colours, glass and hardware for traditional and modern homes.

• Thick insulated core keeps heat in
• Wide choice of colours and designs
• Multi-point locking for strong security
